Our Support

How and Where We Put Our Funds to Work!

Since 2011 RSAM’s primary funding source has been its participation in the Boston Marathon.  We are grateful to the many members of RSAM’s Marathon Teams and their generous supporters over the years.  More recently, participants in the Falmouth Road Race and their supporters have contributed to RSAM’s fundraising goals. RSAM has also held smaller, fun, fundraising events such as our Rett Night at Fenway Park.  We are also very appreciative of the general donations to our organization and those made in memory of or in honor of a loved one.  THANK YOU to everyone!

RSAM’s contributions to laboratory
research and clinical trials
approaches $900,000!!

How has RSAM made use of these funds?

Helping to find treatments and a cure

RSAM has contributed to clinical trials and research at Boston Children’s Hospital Rett Syndrome Program from the very start of the program.  Our partnership with the program continues to be strong!  We are very fortunate to have this wonderful resource and its caring team so close to home.  In 2019, RSAM also supported the Boston Rett Program through Rettsyndrme.org’s Clinical Network initiative.

In collaboration with Rett Syndrome Research Trust and Rettsyndrome.org, RSAM has contributed to a variety of research projects taking place in Massachusetts.  These include research at Boston Children’s Hospital, MIT, Harvard Medical School and University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Helping families and raising awareness!

In 2020, RSAM established a Sibling Scholarship to recognize the siblings of our Rett children and to help families with college expenses.

RSAM holds family events that include an Annual Family Picnic and the Annual Blue Sky Day celebration and lunch.  There are no fees to attend RSAM family events.

Support to families during COVID included supplying masks early on in the pandemic and covering the cost of on-line communication workshops.

Recent RSAM educational programs for families and professionals include RettEdDay held in conjunction with Boston Children’s Hospital and Rettsyndome.org;  a local, day long workshop on communication in partnership with Girl Power 2 Cure and Rett University;  informational webinars and meetings.

Support to Rettland Foundation to aid families participating in clinical trials.

Supplying meals during times of need and uplifting gifts during illnesses;  making memorial donations.

Please support RSAM as RSAM continues to support families!
