A Tradition of Hope, Unity, and Remembrance

Blue Sky Day is our cornerstone community gathering of the year—a heartfelt tribute honoring our precious Rett Angels while celebrating the ongoing fight for life-changing treatments and cures. Marking our 16th Blue Sky Day in Boston, this milestone anniversary highlights 15 years of solidarity, advocacy, and unwavering support across New England and beyond.

The “blue sky” represents visibility for rare disease, the strength of our shared journey, and the bright future we are actively building together.

Event Schedule & Highlights

• 10:30 AM | Outdoor Ceremony: Gather against the iconic steps in the Longwood Medical Area alongside local families, dedicated Rett researchers, the Boston Children’s Hospital Rett Program team, and our sponsors at Acadia Pharmaceuticals.

• Afternoon | Community Lunch & Connection: Immediately following the ceremony, join us for lunch hosted by Rett Syndrome Angels directly across the street at the Life Science Building. Enjoy meaningful conversations, connect with leading researchers, and strengthen bonds with fellow families and caregivers. This year is better than ever-you don’t want to miss out on our fun activities we’ve planned and prizes!!!

• Evening | Purple Sky Night: As day turns to dusk, our tribute continues into the night. Buildings and regional landmarks across Massachusetts and New England will illuminate their facades in radiant purple for Rett Syndrome Awareness Month, lighting up the sky in memory of our Angels and in solidarity with every family we serve. Check out our listings of landmarks, buildings as they are updated regularly.

Whether you are a long-time member of our community or joining for the first time, Blue Sky Day and Purple Sky Night offer a transformative space of connection, comfort, and shared hope.
