Rett Syndrome Association of Massachusetts, d.b.a. Rett Syndrome Angels, has a long history of supporting Rett research. Since its inception in 1987 Rett Syndrome Angels, can now proudly announce that it has contributed over 1.25 million dollars to cutting edge Rett research in Massachusetts!!!!

Contributions have gone directly to research laboratories and clinical trials taking place at Boston Children’s Hospital.  Additional contributions have gone to Rett Syndrome Research Trust and the International Rett Syndrome Foundation to be directed to promising Rett research at institutions such as the Whitehead Institute, Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts.

Beginning in 2011 and continuing for thirteen years our biggest fundraiser was participation in the Boston Marathon.  We owe great thanks to our Team Rett Marathon runners and to the many members of the community who supported them.  Prior to 2011 our Annual Roll for Rett was the primary fund raising activity. We are also grateful to the many individuals who held fundraisers or made donations and we appreciate our generous corporate supporters.

The funds raised by RSAM not only contribute to research, but also make it possible to provide family support.  Family picnics, Woo Sox Day and Blue Sky Day are some of our gatherings offered to families at no or very low cost.  Our Sibling Scholarships and Angel Fund help families at different times in their lives. Programs such as Rett Camp Day and Equine Experience bring fun and exercise into the lives of our Rett Angels. Funds raised result in a better life for our Rett Angels and their families.

Rett Syndrome Angels has started a new campaign, “Raisin’ For Rett”. This is an opportunity for you to raise funds so that Rett Syndrome Angels will continue on the road to raising its second million.
